You guys asked for it, we’ve added it.  You can now put text anywhere on your skin and customize it the way you want!

To get started, click “Customize Page” (top right), then “Skin Builder” (last icon).  Once in the skin builder, click the “Text” tab.

Enter your text, then click the “Add text” button to add it to your page.

To change the color, size, and font-family of the text, click on the text and a new section should appear on the “Add text” window.

To reposition the text on your skin, click and drag it to where you want it displayed.

Please let us know what you think, and if there’s anything else you’d like to see added to StartSkins!

We’ve just added the ability to become a member of StartSkins.  As a member, you gain access to extra features such as:
-Access your StartSkins page from any computer
-Upload unlimited pictures
-Control privacy settings
-StartSkins URL retrieval
-Create and share your skins with the world (coming soon)
-Save multiple skins to your personal gallery (coming soon)

If you share your computer or StartSkins URL with other people, privacy settings will help control what these people can see and edit.

To become a member, click the “Login” or “Privacy Settings” link at the bottom right of your page, then click “Register”.

Hey everyone, we’re in the process of doing server maintenance right now.  There may be issues with the site loading or loading slowly, so please bare with us as we complete the upgrades.  Thanks.

Hey everyone, check out our redesigned website.  The new site allows you to browse skins, invite friends, become a fan (on facebook), and more.

Also, we’re currently working on a feature that will allow you to add text to your page and style it any way you want.  This should be ready early next week.

After receiving many requests to be able to move your search box, we’ve added it!  To move the search box, open the skin builder, then click and drag the search box to position it where you’d like.  When you’re done, click the ‘Save Changes’ button.

Bugs Fixed:

• The skin builder doesn’t get cut off, a scroll bar will now show if needed.
• The bug with the manage images window in IE has been fixed.

Other Changes:

• The skin builder has been updated with options for editing the top links and bottom links.

You sent in your suggestions – and we’ve listened.  You can now hide the Google, and all other search engine logos, from being displayed on your StartSkin’s page.

To hide the logos, navigate to the theme builder (customize page > theme builder), then click the “Search” tab.  Once there, check the check box next to “Hide Search Engine Logo”.

That’s it, you’re done.

We’re also in the process of releasing another feature.  This feature will allow you to move the search box anywhere on your page.

Other Recent Updates:
-A “help” link was added to the image manager – this will show all of the features available, and how to use them.
-Fixed a bug for Internet Explorer users which caused skins not to show in the skins gallery.
-In Internet Explorer, you now must have the manage images window open in order to move & modify images.

As you can see, we’ve just released a new interface for your StartSkins page! We feel this new interface is much cleaner, and much easier to use.

Some Changes We’ve Made:
• A new ‘framed’ look
• Search switchers moved to top left
• Links to your favorite sites in the bottom left
• A single link for customizing your page

You can now upload images and put them anywhere on your page!  To get started, click the the Customize Page link (in the top right corner), then click Image Uploader.  After uploading the image you can set it’s opacity, rotate it, stretch/shrink it, and more!
